Description
Our precious Bruce. Bruce was a Saturday save from the direct ship pen. He was our first save of the weekend. He went directly to the vet because the had terrible injuries along with bad confirmation in his hind end that looked troublesome to me. He was also a rack of bones. Unfortunately it was worse than I realized. Our sweet Bruce.. his X-rays were shockingly terrible. On top of finding horrible arthritis, and a bone fracture, the X-rays showed buckshot in his hind legs… Someone shot this horse with a shot gun. This sweet gentle boy. There are truly no words at this point. I will never understand the depths of hell these horses go through. I can’t even think about why or who did this to him. He was the most gentle kind boy. With him being hundreds of pounds underweight and already in so much pain trying to stay standing, we knew letting him go would be the kindest thing for him. The vet team gave him a night with pain meds alfalfa grain and cookies. And the next morning they gave him one last bucket of grain before releasing him from his painful body. I’m so sorry Bruce. I’m so so sorry.
