Xyla had her first spa day, complete with hoof trim and braided hair. Photo 3 was the day we met her, photo 4 was the day we almost lost her. She began foaming at the mouth while in quarantine. We rushed her to the vet to find her trachea has collapsed, an emergency tracheotomy was performed by one of our amazing vets which saved her life. Little by little she’s learning to trust us. She was completely unhandled when we rescued her. Wild little thang! She now allows us to approach her (very slowly) and she’s learning neck scratchies are a wonderful thing. The Grey in her face and mane made us believe she was a senior pony, we were way wrong! Xyla is only 2 years old!! Yay! She’s got her whole life ahead of her. Xyla's adopters returned her to SMRR because they could no longer care for her.
She went to training but she's wild at heart. Another that I imagine will be here forever.
